Our artists are CRB checked and have an extensive knowledge of art history and graffiti history. Youth projects can be organised in any part of the country and can be both outdoor and indoor focused. The Battle Of Waterloo Youth Workshop

For this workshop we knew we would be teaching a large number of kids in a short space of time. For this reason we kept the structure of the session quite loose so that the kids would see a finished product in a relatively small amount of time. The typical age range was between 6-13yrs. They were taken through how to create the basic letters of their name and the general composition of a ‘piece’. This included filling in the letters and backgound with various colours and shapes layered on top of each other with the session lasting about an hour.

Art Against Knives

The Art against Knives workshop was aimed at kids expressing themselves and in doing so creating an awareness of the problem of knives in regards to violence in their community. They were encouraged to create images on paper before translating their work onto the walls. Using the medium of spray paint helped them feel empowered to create a positive image.

Brixton Splash Festival 2015

For this workshop kids at the festival were invited to take part in the creation of a large portrait mural. The approach was to get them to complete a piece, which helps in confidence building, and learn new transferable skills. With the help of our youth worker/artists, the children were shown different techniques, like how to blend colours and the use of ‘can control’. They were also encouraged to paint on their own to create these effects and how to deal with mistakes using paint as a correction tool.
